Unsurprisingly enough, Internet blackjack plays pretty much identically to real life blackjack. There are certain procedures that dealers of any kind will follow – according to their house policies – and Internet dealers (also known as the blackjack programs themselves) are no exception at all. So strategies that work offline will probably work just as well online.
Want to learn how to play Internet blackjack? It’s simple: you and a dealer square off in a bid to get as close to a total score of 21 with your cards without going over. If you beat the dealer you keep the winnings; if you tie, go under or go over 21, you lose your winnings. It’s as simple as that. The house has a definite edge on this game as a result, but with a few simple tips you can beat that Internet program at its own game and earn yourself some decent money.
First, watch other people play Internet blackjack. Learn both their strategies on what to do and how not to proceed. Follow every little mistake they make and mentally catalogue it in your brain. There’s a lot to be learned by watching over another person’s shoulder, and doing so on the Internet is pretty easy since you can usually watch any game you like.
Second, stand in the following situations. If you’ve got a hard 17 and the dealer is showing a 7 or lower, the chances of the dealer beating you aren’t that high. Stand. If you have a hard thirteen through sixteen and the dealer is showing a six or lower, stand. And if you’re possessed of a hard twelve and the dealer has a four, five or six, stand.
And third, hit in the following situations. If you have a hard twelve but the dealer is showing a seven or higher then you need to hit. And if you have a thirteen through to a sixteen and the dealer is showing any card between the seven and the ace (of any suit, naturally), hit.
Follow these tips and you’ll do well at blackjack regardless of the casino.
