Go on Google. Or Altavista. Or Yahoo. Whichever search engine you prefer. Once your browser has loaded, type in “rules for blackjack online”. Or “how to play blackjack online”. Or anything that will let you see sites that will teach you how to play blackjack.
How many sites did you get?
Probably a lot. That’s because there’s a lot of fans of blackjack that hang around online. No surprise there; not only is a it a good way to make a lot of money if you’re a fan of online gambling, it’s also a fun game. And, fortunately for those of you who want to learn how to play, it’s an easy game to learn. This article will list some of the rules for playing blackjack online (as well as offline; the rules don’t change, though you’ll have to hunt down a human dealer).
How many cards are used varies on the casino. Some use one, some will use as many as eight at a time (to keep people from card counting). Cards are valued as such:
• Two through ten are worth exactly what it says on the front. A five by any other name would still weight the same. (Did that reference work? No? Oh well.)
• Kings, queens and jacks are all worth ten points.
• The ace can be worth both one point and 11 points, depending on your hand. If your hand is ten or less points in value it’s worth 11; if over ten it’s worth 1.
In online games of blackjack the dealer will give the player two cards and two cards for themselves, one face up and the other not. The point of the game is to beat the value of the dealer’s cards without going over 21. You ask the dealer to ‘hit’ you until you think you have a high enough value to win. If you go over 21 you bust and the dealer wins. If you’re lucky you’ll get a blackjack in your first two cards – an ace and a card worth ten points – and win automatically.
